The town of Kells is just 35 miles from Dublin city. It enjoys an excellent pivotal location at the intersection of the N3 (Dublin to Cavan) and N52 (Dundalk to Mullingar and the West) National Primary Routes. The town is an ideal hub from which to service the hinterland of North, West and Central Dublin, and counties Cavan, Monaghan, Louth, Meath and Westmeath. The N3 route from Dublin as far as Kells has been selected for upgrading to dual carriageway standard and planning for this road scheme is at an advanced state. This will bring journey time to and from Dublin city centre (currently around an hour) down to as little as 40 minutes. The proposed re-opening of a commuter rail link in Navan (just 10 minutes drive from Kells) will make the area even more accessible. Some of the advantages of locating in Kells include:
- A ready supply of serviced industrial land at reasonable prices;
- Ready availability of conference and function rooms at the Headfort Arms Hotel in the center of town;
- An active Chamber of Commerce;
- Relatively good value in housing;
- Thirty-Six holes of golf at Headfort - one of the country's finest parkland courses;
- Excellent schools;
- Excellent sporting facilities, with a municipal swimming pool and sauna, and various private sporting facilities and clubs including Tennis, Handball, Squash, Soccer, Gaelic Football, Fitness Centre/Gym, Badminton and Angling;
- A relatively vibrant social scene, with good bars and restaurants and various musical and dramatic clubs and societies.
Overall, Kells represents a very attractive re-location option both to private commuters working in Dublin and to businesses seeking to move out of Dublin.
